According to National Contractor Associations and US Bureau of Labor and Statistics (2024), there are over 350,000 open construction jobs in the US, with approximately 38,000 openings for Construction Estimators. This Boot Camp was developed so you can stop waiting and start training.
This is an in-person Boot Camp taught in Denver, Colorado.
This course is co-taught by Dan Rondinelli and Ron Lavaire based on proven industry best practices.
Dan Rondinelli, CCP
With over three decades at the helm of complex commercial construction projects and a solid academic foundation from Colorado State University, Dan Rondinelli has honed a deep reservoir of industry knowledge.
As an instructor at CSU since 2000, his dedication to fostering mastery in plan reading, quantity take-off, and estimating has empowered countless individuals to excel in their construction careers.
Dan brings insights from his active role as a "Class A" licensed contractor with the nuanced perspective of a Certified Cost Professional to every lesson by blending theory with practical application.
Ron Lavaire
Ron, a lifelong learner who devotes his time teaching others how to improve their construction management skills, his expertise is in Preconstruction / Estimating. Ron’s experience ranges from estimating work in private/public sectors; Higher Education, Multifamily, Commercial Office, Healthcare, Bio-Pharmaceutical, and Advanced Technology. As a former educator, he combines this experience in commercial construction with education methodology to create an engaging learning experience through an environment that fosters creativity and curiosity. His goal is to pass along tips/tricks to mitigate risk, plan strategically and maximize profit margins at the early stages because, “No one got into this business to lose money.”

- Apply Productivity Best Practices to Enhance Bidding Success
- Analyzing Construction Documents to Identify Scopes of Work
- Understand the Prequalification Process and Invitations to Bid
- Perform Quantity Take-offs for Self-performance or Subcontractor Scope Verification
- Utilize Bid Tabs and Leveling Sheets for Scope Pricing Accuracy
- Estimate General Conditions and Indirect Costs Effectively
Learner Assessment and Application
In addition to Scenario Based Work Sessions, learners will have access to downloadable worksheets, checklists, videos, and other valuable resources necessary to support their construction careers. Resources are accessed through Construction Mastery Institute’s Learning Management System for a period of one (1) year for all Boot Camp attendees. This allows learners to re-visit content discussed in the Boot Camp for easy on-the-job application.
