Project Engineer Bootcamp Unit #1

Gain a solid understanding of how general contractors pursue and secure construction projects. Become familiar with key terminology, industry processes, and the critical role of the Project Engineer (PE) in preconstruction activities.

Students will explore how construction documents and specifications are developed and learn to effectively interpret two-dimensional plans into a clear three-dimensional understanding of the project. The unit also highlights the differences between estimating and preconstruction, emphasizes the importance of document control, and introduces best practices for RFIs, meeting management, and submittals. Additionally, students will understand the significance of project close-out activities and how they contribute to a successful project completion.
